Signs of Cold Stress in Cherry laurel
Symptoms
Cherry laurel tolerates cold moderately well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 60℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 40℉, leaves might begin to sag. Minor cases allow recovery, but severe cold causes wilting and eventual leaf drop.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Before further cold exposure, cover the plant with materials like non-woven fabric or burlap, and build a windbreak to shield it from harsh winds.
Signs of Heat Stress in Cherry laurel
Symptoms
In summer, Cherry laurel should be maintained below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, leaves lighten in color, tips may dry and shrivel, leaves might curl, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from intense midday and afternoon sun, or deploy a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
