Signs of Cold Temperatures in Quaking aspen
Symptoms
Quaking aspen tolerates cold well and flourishes when temperatures are above 59℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 41℉. If temperatures drop below -40℉, while winter changes might be unnoticeable, branches can become brittle and dry by spring, with no new growth appearing.
Solutions
In spring, remove any dead branches that haven't produced new foliage.
Signs of High Temperatures in Quaking aspen
Symptoms
In summer, Quaking aspen should be kept below 77℉. When temperatures go above 86℉, the plant's leaves might lighten in color, their tips could dry and wither, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and dried sections. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade fabric. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
