Signs of Low Temperature in Common reed
Symptoms
Common reed tolerates cold well and flourishes best when temperatures exceed 68℉. In winter, it should be maintained above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 32℉, while no immediate changes might be apparent in winter, reduced or absent sprouting could occur in spring.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that have not sprouted.
Signs of High Temperature in Common reed
Symptoms
During summer, Common reed should be kept below 77℉. When temperatures surpass 86℉, the plant's leaves might lighten, curl, become prone to sunburn, and in severe instances, the entire plant could wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Remove the sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth for cover. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
