Signs of Cold Stress in Moth orchid
Symptoms
Moth orchid prefers warm conditions and cannot withstand cold. Optimal growth occurs above 65℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 60℉. Below 55℉, leaves will show widespread water-soaked decay, wilting, and drooping.
Solutions
Remove damaged, frostbitten sections. Promptly move indoors to a warm spot for cold protection. Position the plant near a south-facing window for sufficient light. Avoid placing near heating or AC vents to prevent air from becoming too dry.
Signs of Heat Stress in Moth orchid
Symptoms
In summer, Moth orchid should stay below 75℉. Above 80℉, growth stops, and leaves progressively wilt. It becomes more prone to root rot and sunburn when exposed to direct sun.
Solutions
Prune off any sunburned or desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a shaded area during midday and afternoon. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain plant and environmental humidity.
