Signs of Cold Stress in Catnip
Symptoms
Catnip exhibits significant cold hardiness, yet winter temperatures should remain above 40℉. Should the temperature fall below this point, while no immediate changes might be apparent in winter, a reduction in sprouting or even a complete lack of sprouting could occur in spring.
Solutions
During spring, eliminate any sections that have not successfully sprouted.
Signs of Heat Stress in Catnip
Symptoms
Catnip does not tolerate elevated temperatures well. When the temperature surpasses 70℉, its development ceases, and it becomes more prone to decay.
Solutions
Remove any parts that are scorched by the sun and dried out. Relocate the plant to an area offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or employ a shade cloth for cover. Irrigate the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
