Signs of Cold Stress in Shame plant
Symptoms
Shame plant favors warm conditions and cannot withstand cold. It flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 70℉. In winter, it needs to be maintained above 65℉. If the temperature drops below 60℉, foliage may lose its vibrant hue. Following frost damage, the leaves progressively turn brown or black, and signs like wilting and drooping might appear.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm setting for protection from cold. Select a location near a south-facing window for the plant, ensuring abundant sunlight. Furthermore, avoid positioning the plant near heating units or air conditioning vents to prevent overly dry air.
Signs of Heat Stress in Shame plant
Symptoms
In summer, Shame plant should be maintained below 85℉. When temperatures surpass 90℉, the leaves' color fades, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to an area that offers shelter from the intense midday and afternoon sun. Hydrate the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
