Signs of Cold Stress in Sapodilla
Symptoms
Sapodilla favors warm conditions and cannot withstand cold. It flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 75℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 32℉, foliage may lose its vibrant green. Following frost damage, leaves progressively turn brown or black, and signs like wilting and drooping might appear.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm area for protection from cold. Select a location near a south-facing window for the plant, ensuring plenty of light. Furthermore, avoid placing it near heating units or AC vents to prevent overly dry air.
Signs of Heat Stress in Sapodilla
Symptoms
In summer, Sapodilla should be maintained below 95℉. When temperatures surpass 105℉, leaves become paler, and the plant is more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to an area offering protection from the intense midday and afternoon sun. Irrigate the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
