Indications of Cold Conditions for Italian ryegrass
Symptoms
Italian ryegrass tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 59℉. In winter, it needs to be maintained above 41℉. If the temperature drops below 32℉, while no immediate changes might be apparent in winter, reduced or absent sprouting could occur in spring.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that have not sprouted.
Indications of Warm Conditions for Italian ryegrass
Symptoms
In summer, Italian ryegrass should be kept below 77℉. When temperatures surpass 86℉, the plant's foliage might lighten, curl, become prone to sun damage, and in severe instances, the entire plant could wilt and desiccate.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and dried-out portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade covering. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
