Signs of Cold Stress in Siberian iris
Symptoms
Siberian iris tolerates cold well and flourishes when temperatures exceed 59℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 41℉. If temperatures drop below 32℉, while winter changes might be unnoticeable, spring may see reduced or absent sprouting.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that have not sprouted.
Signs of Heat Stress in Siberian iris
Symptoms
In summer, Siberian iris should be maintained below 77℉. When temperatures surpass 86℉, the plant's foliage might lighten, curl, become prone to sunburn, and in severe instances, the whole plant could wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
