Signs of Cold Stress in Cogongrass
Symptoms
Cogongrass tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 68℉. In winter, it should be maintained above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 32℉, while no immediate winter changes might be apparent, reduced or absent sprouting could occur in spring.
Solutions
In springtime, remove any sections that have not sprouted.
Signs of Heat Stress in Cogongrass
Symptoms
In summer, Cogongrass should be kept below 86℉. When temperatures surpass 95℉, the plant's foliage might lighten, curl, become prone to sunburn, and in severe instances, the entire plant could wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or deploy a shade cloth for cover. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
