Signs of Low Temperature in Common sunflower
Symptoms
Common sunflower tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 70℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 64℉. If temperatures drop below 50℉, even without visible winter changes, spring sprouting might be reduced or absent.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that did not sprout.
Signs of High Temperature in Common sunflower
Symptoms
In summer, Common sunflower should be maintained below 78℉. When temperatures surpass 89℉, the plant's leaves might lighten, curl, become prone to sunburn, and in severe instances, the whole plant could wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
