Signs of Cold Temperatures in Persian ivy
Symptoms
Persian ivy tolerates cold well and grows optimally when temperatures exceed 65℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 32℉, while winter changes might be subtle, branches can become brittle and dry by spring, preventing new growth.
Solutions
In spring, remove any dead branches that haven't produced new foliage.
Signs of High Temperatures in Persian ivy
Symptoms
In summer, Persian ivy should be kept below 77℉. When temperatures surpass 86℉, the plant's leaves may lighten, tips might dry and shrivel, and it becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
