Signs of Cold Stress in Shona cabbage
Symptoms
Shona cabbage thrives in warmth and cannot withstand cold. It grows optimally when temperatures exceed 68℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 59℉. If temperatures drop below 50℉, leaves may lose their vibrant color. Following frost exposure, foliage progressively darkens to brown or black, accompanied by wilting and drooping.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm area for protection from cold. Position the plant near a south-facing window to ensure sufficient light. Furthermore, avoid placing it near heating units or AC vents to prevent excessive air dryness.
Signs of Heat Stress in Shona cabbage
Symptoms
In summer, Shona cabbage should be maintained below 86℉. When temperatures surpass 95℉, leaves will lighten in hue, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Remove any scorched or desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to an area offering protection from intense midday and afternoon sun. Water the plant during morning and evening hours to maintain soil moisture.
