Signs of Cold Stress in Scarlet-star
Symptoms
Scarlet-star thrives in warmth and cannot withstand cold. It grows optimally when temperatures exceed 65℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 60℉. If temperatures drop below 50℉, leaves initially show no clear signs. Yet, within three to five days, they wilt and droop, potentially leading to the plant's complete desiccation.
Solutions
Prune affected areas. Promptly relocate indoors to a warm spot for cold protection. Position plants near a south-facing window for sufficient light. Also, avoid placing them near heating or AC vents to prevent excessive air dryness.
Signs of Heat Stress in Scarlet-star
Symptoms
In summer, Scarlet-star should be kept below 80℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, leaf tips may dry and shrivel, growth can halt, and root rot risk increases. Furthermore, too much sun can cause scorching.
Solutions
Remove dried sections. Relocate the plant to a shaded area during midday and afternoon sun. Water in the morning and evening to maintain plant and environmental humidity.
