Signs of Cold Stress in Tongue plant
Symptoms
Tongue plant flourishes in warm conditions and cannot withstand cold. Optimal growth occurs when temperatures exceed 65℉. In winter, it must be maintained above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 40℉, the plant may weaken, droop, and become susceptible to root decay. With minor frost damage, initial signs might be absent, but the plant will progressively decline after about a week.
Solutions
Remove any frost-damaged sections, checking for root rot. If roots are rotted, excise them, and the plant can be propagated via cuttings. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm setting, positioning it near a south-facing window for abundant sunlight. If natural light is inadequate, consider using artificial grow lights.

Symptoms
In summer, Tongue plant should be kept below 80℉. When temperatures surpass 95℉, the plant's development will halt, it will dehydrate, wilt, and be more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Prune away any sunburnt or decayed portions. Protect the plant from direct afternoon sun until it recuperates and resumes growth. For plants with root rot, cease irrigation until new roots start to form.
