Signs of Cold Stress in Weeping fig
Symptoms
Weeping fig favors warm conditions and cannot withstand low temperatures. It flourishes best when the temperature exceeds 65℉. In winter, it needs to be maintained above 60℉. If the temperature drops below 55℉, its leaves might lose some color. Following frost damage, the foliage progressively turns brown or black, and signs like wilting and drooping can appear.
Solutions
Remove the sections affected by frost. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm setting for protection from the cold. Select a location near a south-facing window for the plant, ensuring plenty of light. Furthermore, avoid positioning the plant close to heating units or AC vents to prevent overly dry air.
Signs of Heat Stress in Weeping fig
Symptoms
In summer, Weeping fig should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures go above 85℉, the leaves' hue lightens, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Prune off the sun-scorched and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to an area that offers protection from the midday and afternoon sun. Hydrate the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
