Signs of Cold Stress in Golden pothos
Symptoms
Golden pothos favors warm conditions and cannot withstand low temperatures. It flourishes best when the temperature is above 65℉. In winter, it should be maintained above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 40℉, its leaves may lose some color. Following frost damage, the foliage progressively turns brown or black, and issues like wilting and drooping might appear.
Solutions
Remove the sections damaged by frost. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm setting for protection from the cold. Select a spot near a south-facing window for the plant, ensuring plenty of light. Furthermore, avoid positioning the plant near heating units or AC vents to prevent excessive air dryness.
Signs of Heat Stress in Golden pothos
Symptoms
In summer, Golden pothos should be kept below 85℉. When the temperature surpasses 95℉, the leaf color lightens, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Cut off the sun-scorched and desiccated portions. Transfer the plant to an area that offers protection from the midday and afternoon sun. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
