Signs of Cold Stress in Queen of the night
Symptoms
Queen of the night flourishes in warm conditions and cannot withstand cold. Optimal growth occurs when temperatures exceed 65℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 41℉, the plant may weaken, droop, and become susceptible to root decay. Minor frost damage might not show immediate signs, but the plant will gradually decline after about a week.
Solutions
Remove frost-damaged sections, checking for root rot. If roots are rotted, trim them and propagate the plant via cuttings. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm spot, positioning it near a south-facing window for ample light. Supplement with artificial lighting if natural light is inadequate.
Signs of Heat Stress in Queen of the night
Symptoms
In summer, Queen of the night should be kept below 77℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, the plant's development will halt, it will dehydrate, wilt, and be more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Excise the sunburnt and decayed portions. Protect the plant from intense afternoon sun until it recovers and resumes growth. For plants with root rot, cease watering until new roots start to form.
