Signs of Cold Stress in Lipstick echeveria
Symptoms
Lipstick echeveria cannot withstand extremely low temperatures. It flourishes optimally when temperatures range from 65℉ to 75℉. In winter, temperatures should remain above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 40℉, leaves will show water-soaked decay and droop. For minor frost damage, initial signs might be absent, but within a week, leaves will severely wilt and eventually detach.
Solutions
Remove any frost-damaged sections. Immediately relocate the plant indoors to a warm setting or construct a temporary greenhouse for cold defense. When indoors, position it near a south-facing window for sufficient light. If using a makeshift greenhouse, ensure good air circulation to prevent rot from inadequate ventilation.
Signs of Heat Stress in Lipstick echeveria
Symptoms
In summer, Lipstick echeveria should be maintained below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 90℉, the plant enters dormancy and is more susceptible to rot in humid conditions.
Solutions
Discard any dry or decayed portions. Transfer the plant to a partially shaded spot, shielding it from direct sun during midday and afternoon. Cease watering until cooler weather returns.
