Symptoms
Mexican tea tolerates cool temperatures moderately well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 65℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 32℉, foliage may begin to sag. Minor cases allow recovery, but severe instances lead to wilting and eventual leaf drop.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Before subsequent cold exposure, cover the plant with materials like non-woven fabric or cloth, and erect a windbreak to shield it from chilling gusts.
Signs of Heat Stress in Mexican tea
Symptoms
In summer, Mexican tea should be maintained below 78℉. When temperatures surpass 90℉, leaf coloration fades, leaf tips may dry and shrivel, leaves might curl, and the plant becomes more prone to sunburn.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from intense midday and afternoon sun, or deploy a shade cloth for cover. Irrigate the plant in the morning and evening to ensure soil moisture.
