Signs of Cold Stress in Common Persimmon
Symptoms
Common Persimmon tolerates cold well and flourishes when temperatures are above 60℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 55℉. If temperatures drop below 45℉, while no immediate winter changes might be seen, branches can become brittle and dry in spring, with no new growth appearing.
Solutions
In spring, remove any dead branches that haven't produced new foliage.
Signs of Heat Stress in Common Persimmon
Symptoms
In summer, Common Persimmon should be maintained below 85℉. When temperatures go above 90℉, the plant's leaves might lighten in hue, their tips could dry and shrivel, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Remove any parts that are sunburned and dried. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth for cover. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
