Signs of Cold Stress in California oat grass
Symptoms
California oat grass tolerates cold well and flourishes when temperatures exceed 50℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 32℉. If temperatures drop below 14℉, while no immediate winter changes might be apparent, spring may see reduced or absent sprouting.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that have not sprouted.
Signs of Heat Stress in California oat grass
Symptoms
In summer, California oat grass should be maintained below 77℉. When temperatures surpass 95℉, the plant's leaves might lighten, curl, become prone to sunburn, and in severe instances, the entire plant could wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
