Signs of Cold Stress in Persian cyclamen
Symptoms
Persian cyclamen tolerates cool conditions moderately and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 50℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 45℉. If the temperature drops below 40℉, foliage may begin to sag. Mild cases can recover, but severe cases lead to wilting and eventual leaf drop.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Before subsequent exposure to low temperatures, cover the plant with materials like non-woven fabric or burlap, and build a windbreak to shield it from cold drafts.
Signs of Heat Stress in Persian cyclamen
Symptoms
In summer, Persian cyclamen should be maintained below 65℉. When temperatures surpass 70℉, leaves lighten in color, leaf tips may dry and shrivel, foliage might curl, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to an area offering protection from intense midday and afternoon sun, or deploy a shade cloth for cover. Water the plant during morning and evening hours to ensure soil moisture.
