Signs of Cold Stress in Woodland crocus
Symptoms
Woodland crocus tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 50℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 32℉. If temperatures drop below 28℉, while winter changes might be unnoticeable, spring may see reduced or absent sprouting.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that did not sprout.
Signs of Heat Stress in Woodland crocus
Symptoms
In summer, Woodland crocus should be maintained below 68℉. When temperatures surpass 77℉, the plant's leaves may lighten, curl, suffer sunburn, and in severe instances, the entire plant might wilt and desiccate.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and dried portions. Relocate the plant to a spot shaded from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to keep the soil damp.
