Signs of Cold Stress in Kaffir lime
Symptoms
Kaffir lime favors warm conditions and cannot withstand cold. It flourishes best when temperatures exceed 70℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 32℉, leaves might lose their vibrant color. Following frost damage, they progressively turn brown or black, and signs like wilting and drooping can appear.
Solutions
Remove the parts damaged by frost. Promptly relocate indoors to a warm area for protection from cold. Select a spot near a south-facing window for the plant, ensuring plenty of light. Furthermore, avoid placing it near heating units or AC vents to prevent overly dry air.
Signs of Heat Stress in Kaffir lime
Symptoms
In summer, Kaffir lime should be maintained below 90℉. When temperatures surpass 100℉, leaf coloration fades, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Prune off the sun-scorched and desiccated sections. Transfer the plant to a spot offering shade from the midday and afternoon sun. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
