Signs of Cold Stress in Bamboo palm
Symptoms
Bamboo palm favors warm conditions and cannot withstand cold. It flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 65℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 55℉. If the temperature drops below 45℉, foliage may lose some color. Following frost damage, leaves progressively turn brown or black, and signs like wilting and drooping might appear.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm setting for protection from cold. Position the plant near a south-facing window to ensure sufficient light. Furthermore, avoid placing it near heating units or AC vents to prevent overly dry air.
Signs of Heat Stress in Bamboo palm
Symptoms
In summer, Bamboo palm should be maintained below 75℉. When temperatures go above 85℉, the leaves' color fades, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Cut off any parts that are sunburned and dried. Move the plant to a spot offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
