Signs of Cold Stress in Eastern redbud
Symptoms
Eastern redbud tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 60℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 32℉. If temperatures drop below 15℉, while winter changes might not be obvious, branches can become brittle and dry by spring, preventing new growth.
Solutions
In spring, remove any dead branches that have not produced new foliage.
Signs of Heat Stress in Eastern redbud
Symptoms
During summer, Eastern redbud should be kept below 70℉. When temperatures surpass 95℉, the plant's leaves may lighten in hue, tips might dry and wither, and it becomes more prone to sunburn.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade fabric. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
