Indications of Low Temperatures for Chinese plum-yew
Symptoms
Chinese plum-yew tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 60℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 40℉, while no immediate winter changes may be apparent, branches can become brittle and dry in spring, with no new growth appearing.
Solutions
During spring, remove any dead branches that have not produced new foliage.
Indications of High Temperatures for Chinese plum-yew
Symptoms
In summer, Chinese plum-yew should be kept below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, the plant's leaves might lighten in hue, their tips could dry and shrivel, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or employ a shade cloth for cover. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
