Signs of Cold Stress in Cornflower
Symptoms
Cornflower tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 60℉. In winter, it needs to be maintained above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 40℉, while no immediate winter changes might be apparent, spring may see reduced or absent sprouting.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that have not sprouted successfully.
Signs of Heat Stress in Cornflower
Symptoms
In summer, Cornflower should be kept below 70℉. When temperatures surpass 80℉, the plant's leaves might lighten, curl, become prone to sunburn, and in severe instances, the whole plant could wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade fabric for cover. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
