Signs of Cold Temperatures in Cherokee sedge
Symptoms
Cherokee sedge tolerates cold well and flourishes when temperatures are above 60℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 50℉. If the temperature drops below 40℉, while winter might show no immediate effects, spring may see reduced or absent sprouting.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that did not sprout.
Signs of High Temperatures in Cherokee sedge
Symptoms
In summer, Cherokee sedge should be maintained below 75℉. When temperatures exceed 85℉, the plant's leaves might lighten, curl, get sunburned, and in severe instances, the whole plant could wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Remove any parts that are sunburned and dried. Relocate the plant to a spot shaded from the midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
