Signs of Cold Stress in Cabbage
Symptoms
Cabbage exhibits moderate resilience to cold and flourishes optimally when temperatures range from 60℉ to 70℉. In colder months, maintain temperatures above 50℉. Should the temperature drop below 32℉, foliage may darken. In extreme instances, water-soaked tissue death, wilting, and sagging can occur, with leaves progressively turning brown.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Promptly relocate indoors to a warm setting or construct a temporary greenhouse for cold defense. When bringing the plant inside, select a spot near a south-facing window to guarantee sufficient light. If light is inadequate, supplementary illumination can be utilized.
Signs of Heat Stress in Cabbage
Symptoms
In summer, Cabbage should be maintained below 70℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, plant development decelerates, leaf coloration lightens, and susceptibility to sun damage increases.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched and desiccated sections. Transfer the plant to an area offering protection from the afternoon sun. Irrigate the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
