Signs of Cold Stress in Schreber's watershield
Symptoms
Schreber's watershield tolerates cool conditions moderately well, flourishing optimally when temperatures range from 65℉ to 85℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 50℉. Should the temperature drop below 32℉, foliage may darken. Severe instances can lead to waterlogged tissue death, wilting, drooping, and a gradual browning of leaves.
Solutions
Remove any parts damaged by frost. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm spot or construct a temporary greenhouse for protection from cold. When indoors, position it near a south-facing window for ample light. If natural light is insufficient, provide supplementary illumination.
Signs of Heat Stress in Schreber's watershield
Symptoms
In summer, Schreber's watershield should be maintained below 85℉. When temperatures surpass 95℉, plant development slows, leaf coloration fades, and it becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched or desiccated sections. Relocate the plant to an area offering protection from the afternoon sun. Irrigate the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
