Signs of Cold Stress in Switchcane
Symptoms
Switchcane tolerates cold well and flourishes when temperatures exceed 60℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 40℉, even without immediate winter damage, spring may see reduced or absent sprouting.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that did not sprout.
Signs of Heat Stress in Switchcane
Symptoms
In summer, Switchcane should be maintained below 75℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, its leaves might lighten, curl, become prone to sunburn, and in severe cases, the whole plant could wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering midday and afternoon shade, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
