Signs of Cold Stress in White sagebrush
Symptoms
White sagebrush tolerates cold well and flourishes when temperatures are above 65℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 60℉. If temperatures drop below 32℉, while winter changes might not be obvious, spring may see reduced or absent sprouting.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that did not sprout.
Signs of Heat Stress in White sagebrush
Symptoms
In summer, White sagebrush should be maintained below 75℉. When temperatures exceed 85℉, the plant's leaves might lighten, curl, become prone to sunburn, and in severe cases, the whole plant could wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged or desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade fabric. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
