Signs of Cold Stress in Birthwort
Symptoms
Birthwort tolerates cold well and flourishes when temperatures are above 60℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 32℉, while winter changes might not be obvious, spring may see reduced or absent sprouting.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that did not sprout.
Signs of Heat Stress in Birthwort
Symptoms
In summer, Birthwort should be maintained below 75℉. When temperatures exceed 85℉, the plant's leaves might lighten, curl easily, suffer sunburn, and in extreme cases, the whole plant could wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
