Signs of Cold Stress in Pineapple

Symptoms

Pineapple favors warm conditions and cannot withstand low temperatures. It flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 68℉. In winter, it needs to be maintained above 60℉. When the temperature drops below 50℉, initially, foliage shows no clear signs. However, after three to five days, leaves begin to wilt and sag, and in severe instances, the whole plant might desiccate.

Solutions

Prune the frost-damaged sections. Promptly relocate indoors to a warm setting for cold protection. Select a spot near a south-facing window for the plants, ensuring sufficient light. Furthermore, avoid placing plants near heating units or AC vents to prevent excessive air dryness.

Signs of Heat Stress in Pineapple

Symptoms

In summer, Pineapple should be kept below 86℉. When temperatures surpass 95℉, leaf tips may become dry and shriveled, growth might halt, and the plant could be susceptible to root rot. Moreover, too much sun exposure can lead to sunburn.

Solutions

Remove the dried-up portions. Move the plant to a location offering shade from the midday and afternoon sun. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain moisture for both the plant and its surroundings.
