Signs of Cold Stress in Giant ragweed
Symptoms
Giant ragweed tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 68℉. In winter, it should be maintained above 59℉. If temperatures drop below 41℉, while no immediate winter changes might be apparent, a reduction or absence of sprouting could occur in spring.
Solutions
In spring, remove any sections that have not sprouted.
Signs of Heat Stress in Giant ragweed
Symptoms
In summer, Giant ragweed should be kept below 77℉. When temperatures surpass 86℉, the plant's leaves might lighten, curl, become prone to sunburn, and in severe instances, the entire plant may wilt and dry out.
Solutions
Remove any sun-damaged and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
