Signs of Cold Stress in Tree of heaven
Symptoms
Tree of heaven tolerates cold well and flourishes optimally when temperatures exceed 60℉. In winter, it needs to stay above 50℉. If temperatures drop below 32℉, while no immediate winter changes might be apparent, branches can become brittle and dry by spring, with no new growth appearing.

In spring, remove any dead branches that have not produced new foliage.

Symptoms
In summer, Tree of heaven should be maintained below 85℉. When temperatures surpass 95℉, the plant's leaves may lighten in hue, their tips might dry and shrivel, and the plant becomes more prone to sun damage.
Solutions
Remove any parts that are sunburned and dried. Relocate the plant to a spot offering protection from the midday and afternoon sun, or use a shade cloth. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
