Signs of Cold Stress in Chinese evergreen
Symptoms
Chinese evergreen thrives in warmth and cannot withstand cold. It flourishes best when temperatures exceed 65℉. In winter, maintain temperatures above 60℉. Below 50℉, foliage may lose color. Post-frost, leaves progressively turn brown or black, exhibiting wilting and drooping.
Solutions
Remove frost-damaged sections. Promptly relocate indoors to a warm area for cold protection. Position the plant near a south-facing window for ample light. Avoid placing near heaters or AC vents to prevent air dryness.
Signs of Heat Stress in Chinese evergreen
Symptoms
In summer, Chinese evergreen should be kept below 77℉. When temperatures surpass 85℉, leaves lighten and the plant becomes more prone to sunburn.
Solutions
Remove sun-scorched and desiccated parts. Move the plant to a spot offering shade from intense midday and afternoon sun. Water the plant in the morning and evening to maintain soil moisture.
