Ideal Temperature for Okra

Signs of Cold Stress in Okra
Symptoms
Okra tolerates cool temperatures moderately well, flourishing optimally between 75℉ and 95℉. In colder months, maintain temperatures above 65℉. If temperatures drop below 55℉, foliage may darken. Severe cases can lead to water-soaked tissue death, wilting, drooping, and a gradual browning of leaves.
Solutions
Remove any frost-damaged sections. Promptly relocate the plant indoors to a warm setting or construct a temporary greenhouse for cold defense. When indoors, position it near a south-facing window for ample light. If natural light is inadequate, consider using supplementary lighting.
Signs of Heat Stress in Okra
Symptoms
In summer, Okra should be maintained below 95℉. When temperatures surpass 105℉, plant development slows, leaf coloration fades, and susceptibility to sun damage increases.
Solutions
Prune off any sun-scorched and desiccated portions. Relocate the plant to an area offering protection from the afternoon sun. Water the plant during morning and evening hours to maintain soil moisture.
